Our Principles

We’re not your typical political party. We’re a movement empowering everyday New Yorkers to take action in their communities without waiting for permission from party bosses or special interests.

Bottom-Up Organization

Power flows from local communities, not party headquarters. Every member has the influence of a traditional party chair. Your voice matters, your vote counts, and you decide what issues to tackle.

Non-Ideological Action

We focus on results, not rigid ideology. Communities identify their top priorities and take immediate action. No more waiting for permission from party elites.

Breaking the Ballot Access Stranglehold

The two-party system uses signature requirements, legal challenges, and bureaucratic obstacles to keep independents off the ballot. We give candidates a party structure and community of signature gatherers to overcome these barriers together.

New York’s Ballot Access Crisis

In 2019, New York lawmakers didn’t reform ballot access—they destroyed it:

15,000 → 45,000

Signature requirements for statewide ballot access tripled overnight. This wasn’t an accident. It was a barrier designed to keep independents off the ballot while protecting the two-party duopoly.

We The People Party NY provides candidates with party infrastructure and a community of trained signature gatherers to meet these challenges and get real voices in front of voters.
